Young people in Cornwall will soon have the opportunity to step up and create what is rightfully theirs: a healthy planet, a thriving economy and a brighter future, thanks to £1 million of funding from the Big Lottery Fund for Cornwall Wildlife Trust’s Your Shore Beach Ranger Project. And the work starts now, as the charity is calling for young people to get involved and design their project logo.
Island wildlife haven soon to open for season

It all begins with a boat trip across waters teaming with life, followed by a fascinating guided tour with the warden around the island which, with its various habitats, provides a quiet haven for wildlife.
Help needed to save our Cornish bees

Our Cornish bees are disappearing, with some species on the verge of extinction, but Cornwall Wildlife Trust is determined to stop this from happening and has launched the Bee Kind Appeal to raise funds to create natural habitats and educate people on how they can help. To carry out this vital work and halt the decline of our bees the Trust must raise £18,000.

Second wave of marine protection welcomed in Cornwall

Cornwall Wildlife Trust welcomes the news that the Government is designating a second phase of 23 new Marine Conservation Zones (MCZs), four of which are around the Cornish coast – Mounts Bay, Runnelstone, Newquay and the Gannel, and Hartland Point to Tintagel - with a further three offshore – Western Channel, North West of Jones Bank, and Greater Haig Fras. This historic move illustrates a renewed impetus to protect our seas and follows on from the announcement of 27 MCZs in 2013. This is the second of three phases promised by the Government in order to fulfil the remit of the Marine and Coastal Access Act.
Dangerous trash turned into treasure

Local children saw for themselves just how dangerous marine litter can be for wildlife when they took part in a beach clean on Porthtowan Beach and found a dead gannet entangled in a fishing rope. They were later however, able to put fishing debris and plastics from the beach to better use.
Chef Nathan Outlaw pledges his support for sustainable Cornish seas

Cornwall based Michelin-star chef Nathan Outlaw has joined Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen restaurant, St Austell Brewery and over 40 other local businesses in pledging to support sustainable Cornish fisheries by joining the Trust's Good Seafood Guide.
