The survey includes settling into a sea-watching session, scanning the water for wildlife sightings. There’s time for breaks, and attendees are encouraged to bring a hot drink in a flask, snacks, and binoculars if available. Please wear or bring warm, waterproof clothing, and sturdy footwear, as the event takes place on exposed cliffs, where weather conditions can be unpredictable. Mobility

Participants should park at Pendennis Head Car Park, which has two levels. For easier access, proceed down the ramp on the right-hand side to reach a flat gravel area suitable for individuals with limited mobility. The survey will take place in the corner of the car park, so no additional walking is required to reach the site. This survey location is popular among Falmouth residents and students from the university, so it is usually well attended. Parking is free, but it can get busy during peak times. Refreshments may be available from a coffee or ice cream van, though please note that there are no toilets on-site. The nearest toilets are at Pendennis Castle or Gyllyngvase Beach. Benches along the headland offer scenic resting spots, and the area is typically quiet, particularly during off-peak hours.
