The survey includes settling into a sea-watching session, scanning the water for wildlife sightings. There’s time for breaks, and attendees are encouraged to bring a hot drink in a flask, snacks, and binoculars if available. Please wear or bring warm, waterproof clothing, and sturdy footwear, as the event takes place on exposed cliffs, where weather conditions can be unpredictable. Safety is a top priority, so be prepared for uneven terrain and cold winds. Everyone is welcome, making it a perfect activity for families, individuals, and nature lovers alike.
Public Transport: To reach Boscastle NCI Station by bus, take either the 95 or 181 to the Boscastle Bridge bus stop. Route 95 runs between Bude and Newquay, while route 181 connects Crackington Haven to Callywith College, both stopping at Boscastle. From the bus stop, it's about a 30-minute walk along the Southwest Coast Path. Head northwest on B3263 toward the harbour, continue onto Valency Row, then follow signs for the coast path uphill toward Willapark, where the NCI station is located on the headland. Be prepared for steep sections and uneven terrain, and check weather conditions and bus service updates before traveling.
