About the event
Healthy Seas and Productive Fisheries: How Can Both Coexist in Cornwall?
Our seas are some of the most productive in the world. They are central to so much that matters in Cornwall, from history and culture, to physical and mental wellbeing, recreation, and industries including tourism and fisheries. But can healthy seas and productive fisheries coexist in Cornwall?
This panel discussion, chaired by BBC Radio Cornwall presenter, Julie Skentelbery, will delve into crucial questions:
- How can we effectively protect our seas, support local economies, and bolster food security?
- Are current policies effective, and what improvements are needed?
- Most importantly, what does a healthy, sustainable future for our seas and fisheries look like, and what steps can we take now to achieve it?
Join us for an engaging conversation with leading conservationists and fishers, as we explore these questions and more.
