About the reserve

This is a mixed reserve, with some oak woodland, grassland and wetland. The meadows, managed as traditional hay meadows, are alive with colourful flowers and insects in summer. The silver-washed fritillary, the largest of this family of butterflies to be found in Cornwall, can be seen here. Otters are known to use the river and leats.
