This exciting category will be part of the annual Cornwall Tourism Awards for the 8th year running, which this year has a new website, a shorter application form and a new online entry process. The deadline for entries is Tuesday 30th April.
The Wildlife Friendly Business Awards category is once again being sponsored by Tevi (Cornish for ‘grow’), which is an ERDF-funded partnership project supporting economic and environmental growth in Cornwall.
Tevi is the only project of its kind that brings together an economic growth agenda with an environmental one, hand in hand. The initiative, now entering its 2nd year of 3, provides small and medium-sized enterprises across the county with expert consultation, opportunities for recognition and certification, as well as access to grant funding, in order to help realise Cornwall’s unique strategic commitment to environmental growth. Tevi also supports enterprises to become more efficient with their natural resource use, to minimise their waste and increase recycling initiatives as part of the global transition towards a circular economy. The venture is led by the University of Exeter, and is delivered through a partnership with the Trust, Cornwall Council and the Cornwall Development Company.
Tom Shelley, Conservation Manager for the Trust says,
“We would urge all tourism businesses that encourage space for nature and promote wildlife to their customers and guests to enter the awards. Taking part is a great way for us to help you to improve your existing business and focus on best practice for the future. Whether you have entered before or decide to do so now, this is your opportunity to shine. We are thrilled to be supported by Tevi for this year’s category.”
