Garden wildlife haven opens for the Trust

Cornwall Wildlife Trust’s 2018 Open Gardens scheme is already attracting crowds of local people and visitors, and this garden is up there with the best of them.

Higher Trenedden at Peakswater, near Pelynt, a beautiful garden set in a quiet valley with wonderful countryside views, opens for the Trust on Sunday 29th April from 2.00pm to 5.00pm, and there is plenty to explore. The owners are particularly keen on attracting wildlife to their garden which offers lots of ideas for visitors do in their own.

The garden includes an established cottage garden, an arboretum which was planted in 2006, with specimen trees, a meadow with a large pond, and a boardwalk through marshland with an abundance of wildflowers and wildlife.

Chris Betty, Communications Officer for Cornwall Wildlife Trust, says,

“This is a garden where the owners are really keen to provide a haven for wildlife. So if you want any ideas as to how you can do the same, then you really should pay Higher Trenedden a visit.”
