Emily’s new series of monthly ‘Nature Trail’ videos will showcase the very best that our nature reserves have to offer and the extraordinary wildlife you can find there.
This episode is a real treat, with fungi, ferns and a very special species of insect.
Emily Hardisty is a biologist and naturalist living in Cornwall, currently studying for a masters (MRes) in Marine Biology at Plymouth University and the Marine Biological Association (MBA). Alongside her studies she is an avid conservationist, Rivers Trust ambassador and all-round science communicator.
Emily says, "I have been fascinated with the natural world for as long as I can remember, forever finding happiness in the excitement of stepping out bare foot onto long grass, bouncy moss, marvelling at seashells, and ocean swims. My admiration for wildlife quickly developed into an interest for the environmental sciences and subsequently a drive to protect and communicate wildlife importance. One way I love to connect with nature is through my wild walks, or as I like to call them ‘Nature Trails’, with which I also hope to inspire others to love and respect the natural world and all its intricate details!"
Emily has had several conservation and scientific articles published in the Marine Biologist Magazine, in association with the MBA and has a BSc (hons) in Applied Zoology, FdSc degree in Marine Science and is also qualified as an MMO (Marine Mammal Observer) and PADI Open Water diver.
