Cornwall Wildlife Trust’s Open Gardens showcases wildlife-friendly gardens across Cornwall to our green-fingered supporters. Supported by our volunteers, who help locate suitable gardens, liaise with the garden owners, check that all the necessary criteria are in place, and then of course, help facilitate the big day itself.

Open Gardens volunteers are able to take on visible roles as well as behind-the-scenes roles. This includes:

  • Directing car parking
  • Entrance desk, welcoming, taking Fees and giving handouts
  • Refreshments, making drinks, serving guests, making cream teas, clearing tables, washing up
  • Baking cakes for the Open Gardens
  • Sales – facilitating visitors purchases
  • Plant sales growing and selling a variety of plants
