About the event
As part of the ongoing community work in St Austell Bay, Cornwall Wildlife Trust are running a special event during National Marine Week 2024 - Porthpean Community Day.
Join in on a host of FREE marine activities for all the family, learn more about our amazing seas and meet the incredible community groups in your area.
We will be based at Porthpean Sailing Club with a host of stands from different organisations with marine arts and crafts.
There is also a host of activities to get involved with for all the family, most of which you can simply turn up to and join in. However, a couple of sessions will require booking in advance.
10am-11am: Snorkel Safari (booking required**)
Explore the underwater world and discover the incredible marine life in our Cornish seas.
12:30pm-1:30pm: Rockpool Ramble
Join us on the rocky shore to search for everything from sensational seaweeds to cracking crabs!
2pm-3:30pm: Sand Sculpture Competition
Show us your creativity by taking part in this fun competition, creating works of art from things you find on the beach.
SUP Safety taster sessions (booking required)
Learn about how to be safe in the water while having fun on a paddleboard with Porthpean Activity Centre. There are three sessions: 11am-12:30pm, 1pm-2:30pm and 2:45pm-4:15pm.
All activities are FREE to take part in, however you can make an optional donation when booking onto the snorkel and SUP sessions.*

**Participants over 9 years of age and under 16s must be accompanied by an adult at all times including in the water.
