Event details
About the event
Get involved in National Marine Week and join us at Godrevy to reconnect with nature with a wildlife walk and poetry session led by local writer Kelly Marshall.
We'll be spending the evening slowing down and taking notice of the nature surrounding us as we take a walk around Godrevy Point followed by a workshop on the beach to explore our creativity.
This workshop is FREE and open to all, whether you are a seasoned writer or rarely put pen to paper. It will be a very relaxed session, allowing you to partake as much as you feel comfortable and Kelly will be on hand throughout to support and guide you.
Schedule:
- Meet at 7pm by the Godrevy public toilets
- Guided walk around the headland (~30 minutes - 1hr)
- Guided poetry session on the beach or overlooking the sea
Light refreshments will be provided but please bring any additional drinks or snacks.
It can get reasonably cold on the headland during the evening so please bring layers and warm clothing!
There will be toilets available a short walk from where we are based.
We have all our fingers and toes crossed for good weather but as this is a fully outdoors event we will be keeping a close eye on the forecast and if rain or heavy winds are forecast then we will have to postpone the event so please keep an eye on your emails leading up the date.
Due to the timings and the nature of the event, this activity is not suitable for young children but older children who are happy to sit, take part and enjoy the scenery are welcome. They will need to be accompanied at all times by a responsible adult.
