Wildlife Patrons: Events
Each year Wildlife Patrons are invited to a programme of engaging events around Cornwall to see work in progress and the impact of their support, including an annual lunch with the Chief Executive Officer.
- Wednesday 15th January, 1.30-4.30pm: Tea, cake and talks at Five Acres
We will be joined by Tom Shelley (Head of Landscape Recovery), who will speak about nature recovery in Cornwall, and Dan Barrios-O’Neill (our new Head of Marine), who will talk about protecting Cornwall’s marine habitats. Both will explore our new Tor to Shore project. -
Thursday 1st May, 12-2pm: Chief Exec’s lunch & bird watching at Helman Tor
Enjoy the chance to meet with Matt Walpole, Cornwall Wildlife Trust’s Chief Executive, over lunch at Gunwen Chapel. Matt will give an update about our latest projects. We will also be joined by Phil McVey (Wildlife Patron and local bird expert) who will lead two groups for optional bird watching walks (group 1: 9.30am-12noon; group 2: 2 - 4.30pm). -
Monday 14th July, 1.30-5pm: Marine experience on the Helford
Learn about our seagrass restoration work, find out more about the incredible marine habitat on the estuary, and take part in a Shoresearch Survey. We will be joined by Matt Slater, Marine Conservation Officer, meeting at Calamansack on the Helford Estuary. -
Thursday 9th October, 9.30am-12.30pm: Behind the Scenes at Cabilla and Redrice Woods
Explore one of the finest ancient woodlands in Cornwall with Reserves Officer, Stuart Mathieson. You’ll see veteran and ancient oak trees alongside a tributary to the River Fowey. Owned by Cornwall Wildlife Trust since 1997, you’ll hear about how we’ve managed the nature reserve for wildlife.
